Harry Reid wrote in his letter to me:“As Nevada's senior senator and the Senate Majority Leader, it is my job to do what is in the best interest of the people of Nevada.” Is it possible that Harry Reid is delusional enough to actually believe he is the good guy of America? There seems to be a lot of that thinking in Washington. Harry has made it very clear that he believes he knows what is best for the voters and has no intention of voting the way of the voters who elected. He has stated that not only is he going to push the Health Care bill through but his is totally in favor of the public option. Harry has forgotten his job is to represent the voters not betray them. Time to DUMP REID! He has forgotten to uphold the constitution and is worshiping at the altar of Obama the marxist.

In case your readers would like to see for themselves the position that Chu and all of the Directors of the National Laboratories took regarding Yucca Mountain, they can look at the report at http://www.ne.doe.gov/pdfFiles/rpt_SustainableEnergyFuture_Aug2008.pdf

Based on the best scientific knowledge, they recommend: "In the short term, this confidence can be achieved by continuing the licensing of a geologic repository at Yucca Mountain and enabling the
continued interim storage of used nuclear fuel in dry casks and fuel pools."

A few months later, under the pressure from Reid and Obama, Chu says tht Yucca Mountain is off the table. Talk about tarnish.

This transcript of President Obama's Inaugration Speach quotes him as saying; "We will restore science to its rightful place..."

Right before the election, then Candidate Obama was given key science related questions by a Science Debate 2008 panel. Here is an interesting answer to one of those questions:

SD2008: Is it acceptable for elected officials to hold back or alter scientific reports if they conflict with their own views, and how will you balance scientific information with politics and personal beliefs in your decision-making?

Obama: I will restore the basic principle that government decisions should be based on the best-available, scientifically valid evidence and not on the ideological predispositions of agency officials or political appointees. More broadly, I am committed to creating a transparent and connected democracy, using cutting-edge technologies to provide a new level of transparency, accountability, and participation for America’s citizens.

Wow, I've been following the dealings of Harry Reid these past few days and this is "lack of science" reporting is right on!

Science is NOT playing any role in the Yucca Mountain decision and this coming from an administration that recently attended an embryonic stem cell meeting on March 9th where Steven Chu was in attendance and President Obama made this statement:

President Obama stated “Our government has forced what I believe is a false choice between sound science and moral values”

President Obama further stated: “it is about ensuring that scientific data is never distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda and that we make facts, not ideology.”

Well, I guess when it comes to Stem Cell Research this importance of having science considered may be true, but for Yucca Mountain we can let a loose cannon like Harry Reid have politics determine its fate!!

How can President Obama let him get away with this? Man, Obama's TRUE COLOR (yes pun intended) is really starting to show.
